Combat in Afghanistan

I’m sticking this video below the fold. It is the most graphic video I’ve ever seen concerning the treatment and evacuation of a casualty. In this case, an Afghan National Army soldier steps on a mine. The Americans with him on patrol provide first aid and evacuate him.

It is a disturbing, extremely graphic video. It’s also long, at thirty minutes, but is compelling. If you wonder why our soldiers suffer from PTSD, take a look at how calm they are during the video. They are  under phenomenal stress, but cool as cucumbers. That stress has to come out sometime.
