Roamy here. Earlier this morning, a Delta II carrying the Aquarius spacecraft launched from Vandenberg AFB.
Everything seems to indicate a successful launch so far, which is a profound relief after the Orbiting Carbon Observatory and Glory satellite failures. The OCO and Glory were launched on Taurus XL rockets, and both experienced problems with the payload fairing separation and ended up in the ocean rather than in orbit.
The Delta II is manufactured in the United Launch Alliance plant in Decatur, AL, along with the Delta IV and Atlas rockets. Good job, guys!
