Thats ‘a “laydown attack.” Because increased Soviet air defenses had forced the B-52s to adopt a low level attack profile, the weapons had to be dropped with a parachute and then they would “lay down” for a while, and the B-52 would escape the blast zone of the weapon. After a while, a timer would set off the weapon.
