Roamy still here! Watch XBradTC show up with 18 posts later today. In the meantime, I thought I’d post some pics from the Air Force Armament Museum at Eglin Air Force Base. I mainly visited here because I work with the gentleman who restored this plane while he was stationed at Eglin, and I do love P-51 Mustangs.
I was surprised by the variety of aircraft here, for such a small museum. An F-105, I think.
P-47. The chairs were set up for a swearing-in ceremony later that day.
My other favorite aircraft, an A-10, parked outside.
An AC-47.
AC-130 Spectre
And last but not least, a B-17.
So if you’re ever in the Ft. Walton Beach area, be sure to check ’em out.
’tis indeed an F-105, a jet that bore the brunt of the air war against North Vietnam.
We visit there often for the ceremonies and to volunteer. AMVETS Post 78 in Valparaiso has done a lot of work there and I personaly can’t make it out of the gift shop without a hat. Go have a visit and look around, some of those aircraft I personaly worked on, that SR-71 and the F-4 were mine at one time.
Nice pictures. I’ll check that out next time I’m in the Redneck Riviera.
If you have to have favorite aircraft (because it is really hard to narrow it down), A10s and P51s are some of the best favorites there are!
Dude? You’re the son of a Navy guy! How about some love for Corsairs and Hellcats, and INTRUDERS!
For USN, I’ll stick with F4Bs, not F4Us… You recall my dad was a tad bit younger… Odd that he can watch “The Great Santini” and not see any irony in it.
