Good Morning!

There’s nothing like waking up on a beautiful morning.

U.S. Army Soldiers awake, in their hasty fighting position, after a night patrol in the mountains, near Sar Howza, in Paktika province, Afghanistan, Sept. 4, 2009. The Soldiers are deployed with Bulldog Troop, 1st Squadron, 40th Cavalry Regiment. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. Andrew Smith/Released) Date Posted: 9/16/2009

It would be a lot nicer if room service would hurry up with the coffee.

  1. That reminds me… has anyone been working on the 155mm Joint Commissary Munition? Instead of HE or AP warheads, you put a thermos of coffee or cache of mre’s in. How about a cluster-chow unit that disperses sub-chows of mre’s and flavor packets for water etc? Maybe some mortars with the nasty stuff replaced by Charmin?

I think the King of Battle could easily become the King of Combat Service Support, too.

  2. Don’t joke.

It’s been done. Blood plasma and bandages were sent in empty illum shells into a regiment that was surrounded in Normandy.

And serious consideration has been given to making a resupply version of the JSOW glide bomb.

  3. Thanks for the reminder that the arthritic hip pain that gets me out of bed is really pretty minor. At least the bed is soft and warm.
