Loss of Liberty, One Amendment at a Time

Soviet_Union_radio

The FCC voted today to make broadband internet a “public utility”.    A quietly terrible tragedy, the effects of which will be disastrous for our liberties.   DaveO at Op-For spells it out superbly.

From 1983 until today, February 26, 2015, America had the freest press the world has ever known because of the free (in terms of controls, not necessarily in cost) the internet. Through Obamacare we have seen the government directly attack the free exercise of religion, and today we have lost the last truly free press. Just like Obamacare, the authors and FCC Chairman ramrodded the s through with zero oversight, zero accountability, and a whole lot of lies to the people. The risk of blogs and the internet informing principled opposition to the Tyranocracy was too much to bear. What next? The Second Amendment?

For those of you who actually believed that control of broadband internet by the same Federal Government that used the IRS and Justice Department to persecute political opponents of Barack Obama and the radical Left had anything to do with “net neutrality”, your naïve stupidity in trusting the motives and explanations of this Administration contributed materially to handing control of the last semblance of independent press to the most malignant Presidency in the history of our Republic.

You were warned.  But you would rather be willfully blind.  And so you shall remain.  Let’s hear from an expert on censorship:

Ideas are more powerful than guns. We would not let our enemies have guns, why should we let them have ideas?

-Stalin

Make no mistake, Barack Obama believes precisely the same.   And forget not that he counts our nation’s enemies among his friends, and domestic political opposition as his enemies.  He is once again employing his regulatory agencies, and his Führer’s Decrees, er, Executive Orders, to make sure we, his enemies, have neither.

  1. Do you actually understand anything about this issue ?

Paraphrased from Business Insider (hardly a left wing voice) :

“Net neutrality” prevents Internet providers like Verizon and Comcast from dictating the kinds of content you’re able to access online. Instead, Internet providers have to treat all traffic sources equally. Net neutrality is enforced by the Federal Communications Commission, or FCC.

For example, Comcast would probably like to promote NBC’s content over ABC’s to its Internet subscribers. That’s because Comcast and NBC are affiliated. But net neutrality prevents Comcast from being able to discriminate, and it must display both NBC’s and ABC’s content evenly as a result. That means no slower load time for ABC, and definitely no blocking of ABC altogether.

In short, net neutrality creates an even playing field among content providers — both large and small — to the web. And it’s great for consumers because they can access everything they want online for no extra charge.

Right now, consumers control what they see online — not Internet access providers — and that’s thanks in large part to net neutrality “.

Yep, the black muslim arab socialist is protecting your rights. Go figure.

    1. Do you understand anything about this Administration?

And do you understand the regulatory authorities that the FCC is claiming under Title II of the Communications Act for broadband? I don’t think you do. Nobody does. The FCC outright refused to publicly reveal the extent of the regulatory powers they claim, nor how they plan to implement that regulation. So, save the 2014 BI article. I know what they and you think it means. Here is a reminder: The IRS mission is to “provide America’s taxpayers top quality service by helping them understand and meet their tax responsibilities and by applying the tax law with integrity and fairness to all.” We see how that worked out. Your Black Arab socialist is responsible for using that agency to persecute political opposition. As he did with Justice, and with DHS, and the FBI. So please, spare me the “benefit of the doubt” crap for this malignant Administration.

You wanna stick your head in the sand, be my guest. Just don’t expect others to stick theirs in with you. .

    2. “Right now, consumers control what they see online — not Internet access providers”

Well, we can’t have that now, can we? That’s an obvious problem that can only be cured by having political hacks control what we see.

  2. polaris111,
How much are you, and those like you, paid to promote this?
This “could” happen! That “could” happen!
These things have “not” happened, to this point.

You are trying to defend 300 fucking pages of regulations that you have not read! You have not read them because they are SECRET!

    “The most transparent administration, EVAH!

“The Internet” is made-up of private infrastructure paid for by AT&T, Verizon, TWC, Comcast, CenturyLink, Cox, and others. It is, in no way, “A Public Utility”.
The courts have slapped the FCC down on this twice.
They will do so once more.

This is not the way this works.
This is not the way any of this shit works.

Why did Ford Foundation and Soros spend $169 million dollars to get these “Three Hundred Pages of Net Neutrality”, which are “secret” enacted?

Things that make you go: Hummmmm…

  3. Have we moved to the right of Claire Wolfe’s awkward stage yet? Just asking for a friend.
