Oshkosh, B’gosh!

The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Fly In at Oshkosh, WI is the largest fly-in event in the world. Held annually, thousands upon thousands of planes fly in to what is otherwise a small, sleepy little airport. Spill will be heading up there later. But right now, thousands are flying in with a bewildering variety of planes. Air Traffic Control there has to stay on their toes. You can listen in here.

  1. Both of my boys are Civil Air Patrol cadets. The oldest one went to Oshkosh last year for two weeks. The first week is training for the airshow. The second week the cadets serve as “slave labor” for the airshow. He loved it. Going to Oshkosh is a huge deal for CAP. Success at Oshkosh gets the cadets the coveted and prestige Blue Beret.

  2. Part of the Bucket List: Oshkosh Fly In, Paris (FR) Airshow, Farnborough Airshow.

    1. I’d like to make all 3 just to say I’ve been. Beyond that, I couldn’t care less. Oshkosh is too crowded. I’d prolly go to Sun-n-fun yearly though, although it’s starting to get too crowded as well.
