With large Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard populations, the Seattle area, in spite of being something of a liberal bastion, has a good reputation for supporting servicemembers.*
And the Seattle Seahawks, having their hottest season ever, took to the time to recognize some of the military members, with a reenlistment ceremony, presentation of Purple Hearts to wounded soldiers, and displays and announcements, as well as hosting Medal of Honor recipients SSG Ty Carter, SFC Leroy Petry, and LTC (Ret.) Bruce Crandall.
Well done, Seahawks!

*San Francisco used to. Now virtually every installation in the Bay area is gone, likely never to return.
The Coast Guard still has several units in SF, which is USCG District 11.

Sure, and God bless the Coasties. But it’s a far cry from the formerly massive presence of the Army, Air Force, and particularly the Navy in the Bay area.
