Sadly, I have no recent pics of Sox to share, but at the request of unnamed parties, I’ll repost some of the Official Fur Spreader of the blog.

  1. I’ve noticed a trend lately with milbloggers and their cats.

I grew up around a lot of cats because they’re were always in my grandfather’s barn in upstate NY. While I am dying to have my own dog one day (i inherited a cocker spaniel that my wife had before we met and now we have a chihuahua who has epilepsy), I do have 2 (male) cats. They’re not supposed to go outside, but the scrappy gray one (Marvin) always likes to go outside and hunt/kill whatever he can; the other one (Bailey – a fat tan tabby) is a mama’s boy and usually comes back in about 5 minutes. Once i spotted Marvin about 2 blocks away when i was running one morning. He usually stands stands watch when i get my migraines too.

Ok i’ll shut up about my cats now. I appreciate the cat post.

    1. Y’know, I’ve noticed a big trend lately of military types – and more (not neo-) conservative folks in general – being cat people. I think it might have something to do with an independent spirit, I think we appreciate that about them. Something along the lines, perhaps, of Clan MacPherson’s motto seems to echo there.

Myself, I’ve got one cat and two dogs. Had two cats, but my big – and heavily armed – bastard died in November. His billet’s gapped, and CINCHOME won’t authorize the detailers to fill it. I – and my remaining cat – are both very sad. The dogs, however, are relieved.
