Sunday Planespotting

So, I stepped outside briefly just now, and lo, my ears perked up. The sound of a radial engine always gets my attention, even when lawnmowers are running in the foreground.

I looked around a bit, and saw a formation of three small planes headed to KPSP. Odd enough to see that, but they were too far away to identify, and likely not the source of the radial growl. Craning my neck around a touch more, and what did I spy?

A biplane. But not just any old biplane. One of the most versatile working planes evah!

The AN-2 Colt.

I didn’t have a camera handy, and it was too far away for a good pic anyway, so here’s a typical representation.
