Florida bill would require anger management courses for bullet buyers | Fox News

A Florida legislator wants anyone trying to buy ammunition to complete an anger management program first, in what critics say is the latest example of local lawmakers reaching for constitutionally-dubious solutions to the problem of gun violence.

The bill filed Saturday by state Sen. Audrey Gibson, D-Jacksonville, would require a three-day waiting period for the sale of any firearm and the sale of ammunition to anyone who has not completed anger management courses. The proposal would require ammo buyers to take the anger management courses every 10 years.

Let’s also make a course in economics a requirement to vote.

  1. HA! The funniest part of that wording:
“The bill filed Saturday by state Sen. Audrey Gibson, D-Jacksonville, would require a three-day waiting period for the sale of any firearm and the sale of ammunition to anyone who has not completed anger management courses.”

is that it also implies that anyone who has (for other reasons) been through anger management course is clear to buy guns and ammunition. So if someone’s in court ordered anger management, he’s okie dokie to buy a gun if state Sen Mo-ron gets her way.

  2. Can we introduce a bill to make “stupidity counseling” a prerequisite to being elected to Florida’s Legislature?

    1. Yep. That pretty much sums up my reaction as well, URR. 🙂
On the other hand, if they flunked pols for stupidity, we would have a very,. very different form of government… Heh.
Sometimes I wonder if Heinlein had it right in Starship Troopers. No mandatory draft, but you need to serve to gain the privilege to vote.
