I Never Said That! (Credibility, Part III)

Except that you did.   Time and again.  Forcefully.   Condescendingly.   Even, apparently, as you knew it to be untrue.   Hoping, one assumes, to keep the real events obscured until after the election.    The nonsense of blaming spontaneous demonstrations and some anti-Islam video clip for the coordinated and well-planned attack in the Benghazi consulate that killed Ambassador Stevens and three other Americans was not a cover story created for national security purposes.  It was a sordid lie whose only purpose was to hide the incompetence and arrogance of this Administration and our State Department under this Administration from the American citizens who will be casting votes in November.

Susan Rice liedHillary Clinton lied.   Barack Obama lied.

And now they want us to believe they didn’t say and infer those things that they and their underlings said and inferred, even in this age of video and internet-posted transcripts.   Because, despite their best efforts, the true facts have come out and are directly at odds with the tales they told.    To paraphrase Howard Baker, what did they know and when did they know it?   It seems they knew the truth, immediately.  Well before they chose to promulgate the falsehoods they are now denying ever happened.

And you, General Dempsey?  You are worse than they.   You violated your oath of office at their behest, playing your own despicable part in perpetuating their sordid cover-up.   You used your office and influence to intimidate a private citizen to refrain from lawfully exercising his Constitutional rights of free expression.   Rights explicitly protected by the Constitution you were sworn to uphold and defend, and which chose to subordinate to the wishes of your political masters.   They are politicians, who may be expected to temporize and compromise.   You, on the other hand, were supposed to have the special trust and confidence that came with your Commissioning Oath and the uniform you have disgraced.   Shame on you.   They lied.  You knew they lied.   Your actions were deliberately designed to give credence to that lie.   You are not to be trusted, and are unworthy of your position of leadership.   If you have any honor, you should resign forthwith.    Despite the assertions of those who believe in politeness über alles, that is as nicely as I can put it, with the disgust and disdain I have for you.

  1. Can you really say they lied? Just like Eric Holder, what if they hadn’t read the intelligence reports that were sent to them,or didn’t listen during the briefing, wouldn’t that mean they were not lying and only incompetent? Doesn’t closing your eyes so you don’t see and plugging your ears so you don’t hear make it OK?

    1. Willful ignorance is dishonest. And, of course, stating fact that in isolation true, but arranged in such a way as to deliberately mislead, is a lie. They are incompetent, to be sure. But also dishonest.

    2. But yes, according to many, it does make it okay. Not sure either of us could try it in our professional duties, however….

    3. No, it does not make it OK, it makes it MUCH, MUCH, WORSE. To purposely ignore the duties you have sworn to undertake borders on treason, as you are acting against the country you are responsible to defend.
I believe that the Obamas, the Clintons, and many other Democrat leaders will find the afterlife very uncomfortable. The chose to sell themselves to thier Master, and have done his bidding well, in exchange for sex and power, but they will find that he charges a lot. Evil does exist in the world, and the Democractic leaders of the Baby Boomers have flocked to it, en masse.

I know that this screed makes me sound like a very angry Badger, but I AM a very angry Badger. I am typing this at the McDonald’s in Baraboo, WI, where I just moved to. I am listening to other customers complaining that it Romney/Ryan win, all thier free stuff will end, and that would not be fair. So I am listening to people whining about how thier enslavement might be coming to an end. Thanks to the Democrats handing out goodies, they LIKE and Want to be enslaved.. God help Us, but we are in trouble.

  2. Looking forward to a public accounting by State Dept, DoD, and IC leaders before Congress. Looks to me like ODNI may have cashed in on the Intelligence Community’s credibility to provide cover for the Administration with their 28 SEP statement, which included this little nugget:

“In the immediate aftermath, there was information that led us to assess that the attack began spontaneously following protests earlier that day at our embassy in Cairo. We provided that initial assessment to Executive Branch officials and members of Congress, who used that information to discuss the attack publicly and provide updates as they became available. Throughout our investigation we continued to emphasize that information gathered was preliminary and evolving. As we learned more about the attack, we revised our initial assessment to reflect new information indicating that it was a deliberate and organized terrorist attack carried out by extremists.”

Am utterly baffled as to what information may have led to such a conclusion, in view of all the contrary public reporting coming out of Benghazi in open channels, along with the known pre-9/11 atmospherics. Perhaps we will find out during the hearings. ODNI Clapper has already damaged his credibility with Congress by testifying that the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt is a “largely secular” movement. Otherwise, his reputation does not suggest a tolerance for slanting intelligence findings to accommodate a political agenda.

    1. Yeah, saw that SS. Which leaves the denial of ever saying such a thing rather puzzling. Clapper is next to go under the bus, apparently. But as often happens, trying to cover one fib with more becomes exponentially more entangled and less credible as you go.

    2. Looking more like DNI Clapper is throwing himself (and the rest of the IC) under the bus unaided. See the latest…http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Peace/2012/10/10/Obama-intel-director-enough-already-libya.

This is a clear policy failure…don’t need the classified brief to see that. Sounds like plenty of tactical warning coming from the Embassy guys on the ground. An intel failure, too? If the indicators were all lit up in open reporting, it’s hard to imagine classified source reporting providing contra-indicators shutting them down. Clapper’s position is incomprehensible…he sounds like a Stepford wife.
