SUMI launch today

Today should be the second launch of the Solar Ultraviolet Magnetograph Investigation, or SUMI satellite on a sounding rocket from White Sands, NM. The first launch was in July 2010, and since then, the solar physicists and engineers have refurbished and improved the instruments for another look at the sun’s transition region. There should be some interesting data, especially with the increase in solar activity in the last two years. More on the SUMI mission here, and I’ll post the launch video when it’s available.
