  1. As a young PFC in ’68 I was pulling motor pool guard on Custer Hill at Ft. Riley, KS. during the winter. The wind making the windchill what it was I stepped between two M-113’s to get out of said wind. I swear it felt as though the APC’s were “radiating” even more cold than being in the wind although that defies conventional wisdom. Custer Hill….only elevation on those Kansas plains so nothing stopped the wind we called “the Hawk”. Regards
