More Linebacker II

We talked about the Christmas Campaign a while ago. Would you like to ride along for a bit? Audio from one of the B-52s on a strike:

  1. In 1979 a B-52 Aircraft Commander, Bud, played a tape that he made during the start of the Christmas Bombings. The tape was almost all defensive calls and the number of SAMs fired at their plane was amazing. Their flight had more radar directed SAMs than this one. The Radar Navigator chimed in once to notify the AC that he was in bomb and that the target was identified.

These are the hard driving men that make up the bomber crew. When you think of North Vietnam, these are the men who flew. Flying on the ARC Light mission plan in the old time B-52. (From a SAC song)
