  1. And smarter, too!
Ahh, my EIB; one of only 13 awarded that testing cycle, IIRC. Since I fail the tab check with the infantry, my EIB is still what allows me to achieve credibilty in infantry land. Being on EIB Committee for dragon and hand grenades made for some good memories; some of the best times are spent watching other people stress, while you force them to adhere to nth degree standards. A certain future unit will be involved in EIB testing in a few months, so I am looking forward to it. Best individual training in the army.

    1. Land Nav committee was a blast. Setting up the course was a pain, but we were the only site with our own grill. Burger and a pop for $2, cash only.

    2. Don’t even get me started on how much money I made for my HHC selling snacks and drinks at Graf. At minimum, I had enough to rent busses and buy tickets for all my soldiers and their families to go to six flags over Europe, and still have several thousand dollars left over in the safe when we deployed for OIF 1. I’ve always wondered what became of it.

      1. Oh, uh, We pocketed our money. It was just a couple of us that brought a grill, some meat, and a cooler. CSM didn’t bitch, so we were golden.

  2. And folks ask why I did not follow in footsteps?
I ran away to sea for a reason. Mattress, showers(sometimes smelled like JP) and three hots a day! Laundry service as well.
I gotta hand it to these guys though! Hooah!
    ORPO1 Sends.
