East Coast readers may be able to see the launches of the Anomalous Transport Rocket Experiment (ATREX). It’s been scrubbed due to weather several times, but they hope to launch five rockets one minute apart from the Wallops Island Facility. They will then track the rockets from New Jersey and North Carolina and look at the upper level jet stream dynamics and learn more about the winds of 200 to 300 mph between 60 and 65 mile altitude. More about this experiment here.
The launches planned for Sunday night/Monday morning will be shown live on http://sites.wff.nasa.gov/webcast/.
