Video Twofer

I’ve found a couple more long videos. First up, an Army instructional video on how to assemble a Medium Girder Bridge. I’ll confess, I’ve crossed them and always wondered how they got them into position. I never asked. Now I know.

Next up, a historical perspective of how the air war in Operation Desert Storm was planned and executed. The Air Force wasn’t as good as they like to think, but they were still pretty good. And while it’s a long video at 40 minutes, it does have some decent splodey. On that note, what really caught my eye is the improvement in the clarity of sensors. Look how fuzzy the thermal footage is in this film, and compare that to the clarity you have become accustomed to in footage from Iraq and Afghanistan. Some of that is due to better recording media for the video, but a lot of it is the better quality sensors in use today.
