Wall to Wall Counseling

One of my minions forwarded this to me.

First, how cool is it that I have minions?

Second, this manual is a bit out of date. We call it “kinetic leadership” or “full spectrum counseling” now.

I rarely resorted to “kinetic leadership”. I think the only genuine beatdown I issued in 12 years service was as a Specialist, to another (slightly junior) Specialist who couldn’t seem to grasp that the  First Sergeant held me responsible for the cleanliness of our room and I sure as heck wasn’t going to clean his half of it.

    1. Dude, it was 1990.

I was the minion back then.

I’m not saying the 1SG told me to “tune him up” but I am saying the 1SG wasn’t very concerned about his sudden rash of contusions.

    2. A large part of leadership is knowing what to ignore, and what not to ignore.

My former son-in-law gave me a hard copy of that FM. I thought it was hilarious.
