War News Updates: President Obama Overrules His Generals On Afghanistan Pullout

War News Updates: President Obama Overrules His Generals On Afghanistan Pullout.

So the President today will make his announcement regarding US troop drawdowns in Afghanistan.

The numbers being bandied about are 10,000 troops by the end of the year, and a total of about 30,000 by next November (right in time for the election).

The adminstration’s justification for this drawdown will be that Osama Bin Laden is dead, and Al Queda is crippled.

Now, I’m no¬†Clausewitz, but wouldn’t that be the time to double down our efforts?

  1. It is all in the timing. Violence in Afghanistan will increase until October then it will decrease over the winter months (just like every year). In the meantime, we will be pulling back to pre-surge levels. Everything will look good, and Obama will seem justified, until the spring offensive.

  2. I very seriously doubt that anyone in the Obamanation’s maladminstration even knows the name of Clausewitz.

  3. Why should they read Clausewitz?

He was a heterosexual white guy who didn’t go to Harvard. And was a soldier, to boot. What could he possibly have known?

    1. You left the fact he’s dead too. Dead, heterosexual white guy, who was a soldier and an evil German to boot. That pretty much gots it covered.
