Operation Moshtarak, the Battle of Marjah, is mostly a Marine show (from the US perspective, there’s also a huge Afghan component). But that doesn’t mean there’s no Army involvement.
One interesting bit is this story about the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade providing airlift support to the Marines. It’s interesting, because the Marines turned to the Army for the helos for an air assault. Most Marine units deploy as an integrated Air/Ground Task Force, with dedicated helicopter and fixed wing assets. Of course, no ground unit ever has all the lift they want or need. In this case, the Army was glad to provide a helping hand.
